e-lakiernik RUST NEUTRALISER SPRAY 200ml

E-lakiernik rust neutraliser spray 200ml

A modern and innovative anti-corrosion product, available in a handy spray can. The product is easy to use and at the same time extremely effective. After application, the corrosion on the metal part becomes a stable primer layer, so most paints and lacquers can be applied directly onto it. Our neutraliser also forms a flexible barrier, resistant to harmful weather conditions - rain and strong sunlight. The product is ideal for renovating metal car body parts, the underbody, fences and railings, bicycles or lawnmowers. Rust neutraliser is also ideal for protecting a car's underbody before winter.

Rust neutraliser - Effectively blocks rust

The first stage of working on a corroded surface is removing so-called loose rust, i.e. peeling flakes of paint and rust dust, using a wire brush or abrasive paper. Such a surface is not yet fully ready for further bodywork and painting. Using rust neutraliser means the product literally eats into the metal part, additionally cleaning and preserving its structure while blocking the corrosion process.

Rust neutraliser - Prevents rot

"Rotting before your eyes" is a saying familiar to all owners of rusting cars and people who work with sheet metal professionally. In fact, corrosion is a long-term process, invisible to the naked eye. Many factors affect how quickly rust spreads. However, by using a rust neutraliser we can slow down the metal corrosion process as much as possible. Our rust neutraliser forms an invisible protective coating on the iron surface, blocking weather factors from reaching the already vulnerable section of metal.

Primer for further bodywork and painting

A surface to be repaired after corrosion must be really well prepared, cleaned and protected. Only this guarantees that the further spread of rust is slowed down or the corrosion process is stopped completely. Rust neutraliser creates a stable primer layer, allowing further application of body filler, and later paints and lacquers, directly onto the repaired surface.

How to use the rust neutraliser spray

1️⃣ Clean and prepare the surface - remove surface rust or loose rust with abrasive paper or a wire brush and degrease the treated part, for example with spirit. Separate the treated part from the “healthy” surface with masking tape.
2️⃣ Shake the can for 2-3 minutes.
3️⃣ Apply 2 or 3 thin coats, spraying from a distance of 20-30 centimetres from the treated surface.
4️⃣ Wait 5-10 minutes before applying the next coat of neutraliser. You can lightly sand the coat already applied to improve the adhesion of the next one.
5️⃣ Leave the part to dry thoroughly for about 12 hours.
6️⃣ Continue with bodywork and painting.

What can the rust neutraliser be used on?

The e-lakiernik rust neutraliser is designed for use on all metal surfaces. It is particularly useful when working on car parts - wings, bonnets, doors, boot lids and sills. The rust neutraliser is also effective when renovating old bicycles, fences or metal roofing sheets. Once the iron surface has been cleaned of rust, you can start working with body filler, and later with many types of paints and lacquers, applying them directly onto the clean section.

Where does rust come from?

Rust, the reddish-brown deposit on metal surfaces, is the result of the corrosion of iron and its alloys. Metal parts corrode as a result of chemical reactions of iron with water and oxygen. This means that metals rust because they are exposed to frequent contact with water and humid air. Sulphur dioxide, one of the main components of polluted air, also affects the progress of corrosion.
Corrosion is an ordinary chemical process that sooner or later can affect any metal surface. Little can be done about the natural effect of weather factors, but for many years, already at the production stage, care has been taken to ensure that steel or cast-iron products are protected against corrosion as well as possible.
Rust is commonly seen on car bodies, fences or metal roofs, because these are the surfaces most exposed to weather and polluted air. The appearance of corrosion spots does not mean the metal is fit only for the bin. Of course it can still be used every day, but it is worth making sure the corrosion does not spread and, over time, completely destroy the metal surface.
